Great food and service. The building could use some updates.

Business hours begin at 11, but they'll start serving before then. I arrived just before 11 and the buffet wasn't fully stocked. Great place to dine. Just don't show up too early.

Took grandbaby here. He always enjoys himself. Great staff and customer service. Nice selection of food. Ice cream is awesome

Good buffet, and reasonably priced. Big buffet bar, with lots of options. One of the best Chinese buffets in the Birmingham area.

We ate there Friday night and it was outstanding! Everything we put on our plate was delicious! And the waiter was friendly and eager to help! We've gone on a weekday and it was good, but last night the cook bit it out of park!!!

They have some really great recipes here and some really bad ones, with some stuff in between. Their fried rice is quite good compared to most other buffets, their black pepper chicken is amazing, sesame and general tso chicken is quite good when fresh. Their fried goods (crab wonton, egg rolls, etc) are on the underside of mediocre. Most of the waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Their to go box pricing is excellent.

Chose to come here because we were tired and hungry after being on the road all day.. Well we should have went to the Cracker Barrell... No food on the bar, no sushi, and no nothing.... Stay away... Go somewhere else...

I got buffet to go. The food was good. I only wish they offered a bigger variety of dishes.

As I walk in i was welcome and seated. The customer service was amazing. the food nice and fresh.I recommend you guys to come and try carnation Buffet :).

Just OK. $15 tab for dinner at 4:30 PM is a bit steep for what you get.Egg drop soup container was crusty around the top of the container, so I passed.Otherwise, food was edible.

It's your standard Chinese buffet. The sushi was subpar and it came apart when I used the tongs. The Fried Chicken was surprisingly good. The female I was dining with grab the plate that was connected to a few other place plates via a stream of used gum. The waiter was super-duper nice. Overall it was a decent place.

This is a really good buffet. Tons of options and the sushi selection is superior to most buffets I have been to. My wife and I have been searching for a great hibachi buffet and would recommend it to anyone.

All the food was fresh and hot staff was very friendly and not once did me or my wife had to ask for refills da only thing i didn't like was the crab legs no flavor but everything else was great would most definitely b bk again...

Plenty of tables for those of us who are handicapped. Food is fresh and waiters are attentive to remove used dishes quickly.

I rarely ever slam on a place, but this place was truly disgusting. The parking lot is in disrepair and overgrown with weeds with garbage everywhere. The Chinese part of the buffet was kind of slimy. I don't know how else to describe it. The few American things that they did have like chicken wings were fried so hard I literally could not bite through them. We were there less than 10 minutes, left two plates of partially eaten food and left before either one of us got sick. Stay away.

I don't know whether or not I was just hungry that I like it too much or it was simply good. The food was very tasty I went around 7 p.m. it was also fresh. I didn't like the red meat or the chicken at the Hibachi otherwise everything was fine. Price was $12 at this time on Sunday. I will definitely go again. Chinese and seafood is the best over there .

I went to this restaurant for dinner and I realized that after "some time" (around 7pm - 8pm) they don't refill the dessert trays. So, if other customers finish with all the desserts and you're going to eat at that time, forget about eating dessert (not even ice cream).

Love this place, great food, kind staff, good pricing. When our family goes here we feel safe, welcome and enjoy the atmosphere. There is a sushi section, Mongolian Barbecue, soups and salads, western cuisine, and more traditional Chinese.

Needs more salad bar options but overall its good food

Nice clean buffet all of the waitresses are always checking to make sure if you need anything, like refill your drinks, fast at coming & getting your plates ect while you are eating & or getting up to get more food from the buffet. Very Friendly!

We got there right before dinner started. The food was dry as it was lunch food, then they slowly brought out dinner, for Friday night. There were hardly any crab legs brought out and they were very skinny legs. Frog legs and shrimp was good tho. I'd go back.

I usually go here a lot when I want some sushi. I've never had any bad experience with them. I'm fact, I've had some nice conversations with them after telling them "Hello" and "Thank you" in chinese. I think they're wonderful people. The only reason they don't have 5 stars is because it's a pretty small buffet, even with the choices (which aren't bad if you ask me)

The food was okay however some dishes was kept out and cold. Fresh hot food was put on top of old cold food (ex. the fish). And of course the dessert choices are horrible. The ice cream taste as if made with powder and only two flavors. We will not be going back.

Really good food. Great service. A lot to select from. All around good place to take your family or go alone.

WE HAVE BEEN GOING FOR YEARS. IT USED TO BE NICE AND CLEAN NOW NASTY AND SMELLY.WE ONLY WENT FOR THE CRAB LEGS WHICH THEY NO LONGER HAVE.THEIR CHINESE FOOD HAS NEVER BEEN THAT GREAT.THE COOKS ARE MEXICAN.I DON'T WANT TO GO TO A MEXICAN RESTURANT WITH CHINESE COOKS.WE WENT AT 6PM FOOD WAD OLD AND COLD.THE BOILED SHRIMP WAS THROWN ON TOP OF THE OYSTERS.I HAD TO THROW UP BEFORE WE LEFT.WHEN WE COMPLAINED THEY GIGGLED AND ACTED LIKE THE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND.NEVER GOING BACK# GROSS#WARNING YOU'LL GET SICK.

Outside was full of trash. We brought it to their attention and they cleaned it up. Food was pretty good

I don't know what happened to this place but it's gone down hill. It smells bad, the floors are sour and filthy, they rarely have anyone come to the table to refill drinks or even check to see if anyone needs anything at all

Great people and food. Clean restaurant and bathrooms reasonable prices.

Place is nasty, falling apart, poor service, alot of food is not displayed correctly or gone. I would not go, I have been there when they open up and it is running down, really poor and disappointed. I know that other people feel the same way.

Buffet did not serve “Mongolian” style food as advertised! The chicken tasted nasty! It tasted fishy which makes me believe that it was fried in the same oil as their shrimp and other fishy items. Their hot donuts with sugar was hard and definitely not fresh. I do not recommend this establishment! We had a bad after taste on the food that we ate. Not one item tasted good except their string beans! Save your money and go somewhere else!

Nice people great food

Resteraunt is showing its age. Starting to be a run down joint. Waitress was nice enough. Service was OK. Food was basic cheap Chinese buffet...not of quality like Ichiban. Don't expect quality food just cheap food.

The food was ok...but the landscaping...the evergreens were covered with some type of disgusting cob webs. Disgusting to look out the window as you eat and see. Makes you itch to pass by them...right at the entrance.

This was the best experience that I have had here. Not that the other times were bad. But it was a really good sushi day.

Awesome place!!!! Great food & all the waiters and front guy are really nice. So with all that being said it is hard to beat Carnation Buffet.

Good food and selection. Not bad price. BUT.. be prepared to be racially segregated.You'll see what I'm talking about
